The teams will complete challenges centered around the concepts of confidentiality, integrity, availability, defense in depth, think like an adversary, and keep it simple. Trigon Cyber Sponsors HudsonAlpha Tech Challenge (HATCH) 2023 Event

Trigon Cyber was glad to play a role in fostering innovation and collaboration at the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology’s HudsonAlpha Tech Challenge (HATCH). As a hub of creativity and technological advancement, this event brought together over 50 talented individuals from diverse educational backgrounds. Participants engaged in a spirited weekend of brainstorming and problem-solving, addressing critical issues in genomics, computer science, and bioinformatics.

The challenge highlighted the remarkable potential of young minds in science. High school division winner GeneSheild demonstrated this by developing a platform focused on the security and protection of genomic information. In the college/professional category, ARboretum impressed with their cross-platform application designed to enhance botany education, showcasing the merger of technology and learning.

Trigon Cyber, in collaboration with LatchBio and the Women In Defense Tennessee Valley Chapter, proudly supported this innovative hackathon. Our participation in this event underscores our commitment to nurturing the next generation of tech pioneers and their transformative ideas.

Trigon Cyber Proud Supporter of GenCyber Olympiad 2023 at UAH

UAH welcomed 8 teams of middle and high school students representing area schools to compete in the inaugural GenCyber Olympiad in Huntsville, AL. Students competed across 7 categories to rank for awards and prizes. Title 1 schools and schools without existing cybersecurity programs were priotized for selection. There was no cost to attend. Trigon Cyber supported by providing judges for some of the categories, particularly, the Defense-In-Depth.

The family of Betty Schonrock celebrates her gift of $250K to UAH Hockey

Elizabeth “Betty” Schonrock’s family has donated $250,000 to the University of Alabama in Huntsville’s (UAH) Hockey program in her memory. Betty, who passed away in 2020, was a passionate supporter of community and educational programs in Huntsville, including UAH Hockey, reflecting her and her husband’s desire to ensure the program’s future. Betty had a distinguished career with IBM and NASA’s Apollo program before dedicating herself to volunteerism in various organizations within Huntsville. The Schonrock family’s contribution honors Betty and her husband’s legacy and supports the continuation of UAH Hockey, a program that became close to their hearts through their involvement in local ice sports and community service.
