Ryan Black

Vice President, Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer (CISO)

Ryan is the Chief Strategy Officer for DoD Programs of Trigon Cyber, Inc. An Alabama native, he served 30 years with the U.S. Army Reserves within the intelligence branch, working with Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) and Tactical Exploitation of National Capabilities (TENCAP) programs. During this time, he served supporting IFOR (Implementation Force) and SFOR

(Stabilization Force in Bosnia and Herzegovina) in Operation Joint Endeavour and Operation Joint Guard.

Immediately following 9/11, Ryan was again mobilized and deployed for over two years serving with Third Army/Army Central Command (ARCENT) and Coalition Forces Land Component Command (CFLCC) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. His last deployment was for fourteen months in 2009 to Baghdad supporting Multi-National Corps – Iraq (MNC-I) and Multi-National Force-Iraq (MNF-I).

Additionally, Ryan has multiple years of leadership, technical, and management experience including Director of the Small Business Development Center for University of Alabama Birmingham/Walker College and Project and Interoperability Lead for various Army PM Unmanned Aircraft Systems (PM UAS) programs. His PM UAS experience includes the Shadow UAS Communications Relay System which earned a 2007 U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development, and Engineering Center (AMRDEC) U.S. Army Greatest Inventions award, and Manager of the Enterprise Architecture Section for Dynetics, Inc. Ryan is a graduate of The University of Alabama.

Ryan was a founding board member of the Walker County Development Authority and served as an Assistant Scout Master in his community. He enjoys spending time with his family and currently serves as a deacon in his Church. His intense loyalty to the Warfighter is due to his dedication to Soldiers whom he believes are the final customers and must be supported and empowered.

As CISO, Ryan draws on his 30+ years of military experience (18+ years as a defense contractor) to focus on strategic and operational innovation. He assists the company through strategic growth opportunities and initiatives while nurturing a culture of innovation. Ryan’s miliary expertise involving military operations around the world, ensures the company’s innovation efforts are better aligned with its long-term objectives to support the Warfighter.
